Video Openhouse on the Real Estate Channel

February Real Estate Tech Meetup

News, Real Estate Channel, Vancouver

We attended the Vancouver Real Estate Tech Meetup held by Ubertor founders Michael Stephenson and Stephen Jagger held at Ceilis Irish Pub on Smithe Street. It is a great opportunity for realtors to talk with technology-based service providers about the real estate industry.

Leon Ng and his team from the Real Estate Channel gave a talk on the power of video. Leon used a few examples from YouTube and spoke about the viral nature of video and social networking websites.

Dara Sklar of Realty Support also did a website review for Adriaan Schipper of RE/Max Crest Westside. Dara is truly an expert in the Ubertor software. Her assessment looks for opportunites to improve ones website by adding one or more of the porwerful, but often overlooked features of Ubertor sites. She also suggests ways to improve the written content as well, resulting in better search engine results.

My favourite part of the night is the meet and greet at the end of the night. I had a chance to speak with MJ Ankenman of RE/Max Masters Realty. She just posted her inaugural episode of “Chat Realty”. In her first videocast, she interviews Ron Sowden of Dekora. I like the concept and hope she keeps it up!

I also spoke with William Urrea, Vice President of Sales for iSign Media. You may have seen their vertical screens at various locations around the city. They offer a very compelling product and another avenue for advertising for realtors here in Vancouver.

Sound interesting? See you at the March Real Estate Tech Meetup.

Real Estate Channel – 3 Free Listings

News, Real Estate Channel, Real-Estate

I just spoke with Leon Ng of the Real Estate Channel (www.realestatechannel.ca). He informed me that they are offering new members 3 free listings a month for a year. To become a member, a realtor needs to only purchase one of their packages. Their packages are affordable and in return they receive a 30 second advertisement video in rotation on their network and the video hosted on their website. The Real Estate Channel works hard to promote realtor listings. They also have done a great job supporting/promoting their clients by drawing from their membership when they need real estate experts for their on-air interviews.

For our clients that are interested in this offer, we are able to produce your video for the Real Estate Channel as part of our services. Do you have a few active listings? Interested in advertising on television? Video Openhouse can help you get your listing on the Novus Network’s Real Estate Channel.

The Real Estate Channel

News, Real Estate Channel

What an interesting 2 weeks it has been. Recently, we were contacted by Leon Ng, President of the Real Estate Channel. He wanted to discuss how our 2 companies could work together to increase the use of video as a marketing tool within the real estate industry.

For those who are unfamiliar with the Real Estate Channel, they will be broadcasting on channel 80 on the Novus Network (www.novusnow.ca) and just launched their website, www.realestatechannel.ca on November 28th. Novus Entertainment, the parent company of the network has an affiliation with Concord Pacific and has built a fibre optic cable network throughout the Greater Vancouver area and offers high-speed Internet and television services. They service the majority of major condominium buildings in the downtown core.

The Real Estate Channel is offering property listings, community profiles and industry advice to its viewership. Real estate agents will again be challenged to evaluate the effectiveness of traditional mediums such as newspaper listings in comparison to the new mediums that have become available over the last few years.

The Real Estate Channels launch is an opportunity for all real estate professionals to promote themselves through the use of a medium that has not been previously available in the Vancouver area. The most proactive agents, the early adopters, will receive the greatest benefit when it comes to advertising on the network. Why is this? The Real Estate Channel currently promises that your ad will be played a minimum, 12 times per day. The reality of starting a new network, especially one that is based on selling TV time, amounts to tremendous opportunities for the first agents that advertise their listings. The amount of content in rotation maybe be less than the 2 hours that constitutes their 12 cycles. Bottom line, your ad gets played more than the 12 times that is promised!

Our discussions with Leon have resulted in great opportunities for Video Openhouse and our clients. We provided the network with 30 second versions of our current videos and in return, our clients have receive free television airtime for 1 month to promote themselves and their listings. We will continue to act as an extended production team for the Real Estate Channel, providing video content for their property listings. As an extension of the services we currently provide, we will also be offering to prepare content for the Real Estate Channel for our current clients as well.

Please take time to visit their website and if you have access to the Novus Network, watch for their television launch sometime next week.
