MLS Website vs. Realtylink
I have been analysing some web stats from the past month and I was wondering how many local vancouverites use the mls website. From a users perspective, the servers are slow, and often doesn’t load properly. On the other hand, the realtylink website is much faster, incorporates larger pictures and has a few very useful tools for people searching for homes in the Vancouver area. The Open House listing is a great tool for buyers, offering a centralized location where I can find Open Houses in my area.
Currently, our website is getting lots of hits from overseas, notably Hong Kong, Australia, Taiwan, China, The European Union, South Korea and Great Britain. The actual list of countries that have visited our site is truly astounding. So my question then (since we are somewhat new to Vancouver), does the general public know about RealtyLink? or do most of them labour through the slowness of MLS.ca?

Agree.
The Realtylink website is MUCH BETTER than the MLS website.
The city of Victoria should be aware of this, too.
They seem to be only on MLS only.

The MLS system, also known as the Multiple Listing Service is a complex information-sharing and cooperative marketing network created by REALTORS several decades ago to help the public buy and sell homes. The MLS system provides REALTORS with access to much more detailed information than you’ll find on a website. MLS information will include room-by-room measurements and specifics on the property condition, renovations, property zoning and rental rates.

I usually use Realtylink BUT I have discovered I like MLS.ca for the area map that you can hover over. I always check both as sometimes I have noticed that pics etc are not always updated on both sites.
